Festival of Freedom: India Day at Boston Harbor

FIA New England marked the Festival of Freedom with a full day at Boston Harbor: raising the Indian and American flags together, a parade of floats, bands, and grand marshals through the city, and a harbor-side stage program that included a Commonwealth of Massachusetts proclamation honoring India Day and a classical dance performance. The parade opened with a ribbon-cutting joined by the Consul General of India in Boston, alongside FIANE's chief guest and grand marshals.

250 Years of Freedom, 250 Trees for the Future

To honor the 250th anniversary of American independence, FIANE launched the 250 Fruit-Bearing Trees Initiative — planting one tree for every year of the nation's freedom. A symbolic gesture to invest in the future, the community, and the environment, the celebration brought together hundreds of community members, veterans, elected officials, and families. The first tree was planted by 95-year-old World War II U.S. Navy veteran Frank Brown, and children capped the day by releasing 250 silver balloons into the summer sky.

We Remember

September 11, 2001 · Never Forget

On the twenty-fifth anniversary of September 11, FIA New England gathered at the Westborough Fire Station with the town's firefighters and members of our community. With the flag at half-staff, we stood together in silence, laid wreaths at the steel-beam memorial, and honored the innocent lives lost — and the first responders who ran toward danger so that others might live.
